Happy 1st of. . . . . . .

December? No, it’s just October right? Then why is this my view from my office this morning?!

It’s way too early for that amount of snow, 6 inches overnight, ugh! Okay, that was the end of my vent.
It’s been a nice week. Not too much went on, we had Darren, Alicia, and Kasen over on Sunday for football and lawn golf. Good times were had by all until Kasen thought it was a good idea to kick Lucy, she didn’t like that.
Monday Brad and I went to see Inglorious Basterds. Not the best Quinton Tarantino movie I’ve ever seen but a good movie none the less. Brad Pitt’s accent is hilarious! That night when we got home was when Brad got to feel Ella kick for the first time (see post below for details) so a good night. I’ve been at work every day since then but it isn’t all bad, it’s an extra day this week. I’m down to less than 2 weeks until I’ll be back home, I’m so ready, I miss everyone. And just a couple days before I fly home is my 1 hour glucose test (not looking forward to that) and our follow up u/s for pictures. Now still tell me how it’s a good idea to schedule an u/s for us just so we can have some good pictures, but mae it right after mommy is pumped full of sugar? I don’t get it, but at least it’s another chance to see our little girl. My biggest fear is that we’ll go in and they’ll tell us “Woops, it’s a boy.” Haha, just after having a month to get it to sink in that we’re having a daughter, I think I’d cry. LoL
I think she’s going through a big growth spurt because I’m not sleeping and she’s sleeping a lot. She’s most active right after I get home from work and right before bed time, I get a few little kicks and jabs throughout the day but nothing like night time. I hope this doesn’t mean she’s a night owl. =)
How far along? 23 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +8lbs at 20 weeks. I don’t have a scale at home to torture myself with.
Maternity clothes? Pants yes and I ordered a bunch of tops from Old Navy that my e-mail is telling me were delivered today!
stretch marks? No new ones since 18 weeks. Knock On Wood!
Sleep: Not the best right now, if it isn’t lack of sleep from her growth spurt then it’s the insnae charlie horses that wake me up when I am sleeping.
Best moment this week: Brad feeling his first kick! A-mazing!
Movement: Is so cool, I feel it all the time now!
Food cravings: Not really!
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: None thank goodness
Belly Button in or out? In, but weird. Yes, I have a weird belly button.
What I miss: Sleeping on my tummy!
What I am looking forward to: What am I not looking forward to? Our 3 year anniversary is on Wednesday, Our next u/s is on the 12th, I fly home on the 14th, my birthday is the 17th, and my baby shower is the 18th. What a busy couple weeks I have coming up.
Weekly Wisdom: Not really wisdom but I saw this quote and LOVED it: No one will ever understand the strength of my love for you. After all, you are the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside.
Milestones: Brad feeling his first kick, it was awesome. And in a week and a half the glucose test. Keep your fingers crossed that I pass, I want to eat cake on my birthday and at my shower. Haha!

Here is what the websites all say about my 23 week baby:
Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she’s more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby’s increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won’t faze her when she hears them outside the womb. Baby’s sleeping! He or she can drift into deeper sleep, known as rapid eye movements (or REM), and baby can dream, too. Just what is baby dreaming about? Meeting you, of course! (Most likely, baby is dreaming about daily life inside the womb–playing with the umbilical cord or hearing your voice.) Baby’s little face is fully formed…minus the baby fat, of course. The next task at hand for baby: sprouting two teeny-tiny nipples!
Oh, before I forget, I think we’ve decided to go with my Green choice and Brads pink choice for the nursery colors, we dropped the chocolate brown because Brad really didn’t like it so I said oh well. =)
And last but not least the belly shots.
Here is the side view:

And the front view:
That’s about all I got.

  1. Ha! Man you're lucky, I live in the mountains in Colorado, today it looks nice outside but since there was no cloud cover to keep any heat in last night it was 12 degrees on my way to work at 6:30. Blah!
