So, for our 5 year wedding anniversary Brad got me tickets to go see Jason Aldean. :::Squeal::: I was so excited! Last Friday (the 21st) was the big day. Brad left work early and we got Ella all ready to go for her first sleepover. All day she kept telling me that she was going to dinner with “yacky (Zachy), Josie, Sam, & Rachel!” Brad and I had been preparing her for a few days that she was going to sleep there and play with them all night. When it came time to drop her off, we had no problems at all. She was off playing with Josie and Zach already and so Brad and I were able to sneak out unnoticed.
We then headed over the pass and our first stop was Tommyknockers for dinner. If you haven’t been there, they have the most amazing Fish & Chips, Yum! And then we were headed down to the Pepsi Center for the show. We pulled in to our favorite “stash” [arking lot at 7:15 and it was EMPTY, I was shocked. So we were able to walk right across to the Pepsi Center and get right in. We walked in just as Thompson Square started their first song. They are so cute and they put on a really good show. I didn’t get my camera out while they were on stage and I could kick myself because they had the cutest set.
Next up was Chris Young,
I love his songs so I was excited to see him. He sings very well live but he’s not the best “Performer” It’s like he tries too hard, but he was still nice to see. I liked him.
Then, it was finally time for Jason! O.M.G. He puts on an AMAZING show! He did songs from all of his albums, not just the more recent ones, which I was VERY happy about. He got the crowd going and just genuinely looked like he was enjoying putting on the show as much as I was enjoying watching him.
Brad thought the crowd was a little lame but he enjyed the performance, although I don’t think appreciated
how sexy Jason Aldean is it as much as I did. If you like Jason’s music at all, go see him if you get the chance! I LOVED it!
We got home at about 1 AM (Yes, I was DEAD on my feet as that’s about 4 hours after my normal bed time) and we actually slept until 8:30. When we went to pick Ella up she did not want to go, Ha! I was afraid of that, I can just hear the thoughts in her head “Are you kidding, there are 3 of my friends here, I. AM. NOT. LEAVING.” I’m so glad she had fun, and THANK YOU SO MUCH Rachel for watching my kid as well as your own! She had a blast!
Last Sunday (think, last, last Sunday, the 16th) we went to the Pumpkin Patch while we were back home. For any of my Indiana peeps, you should absolutely check it out, amazing!
We go to Lark Ranch down in Loogootee. My mom and sisters have been going for years and taking my niece and nephew. This year though with everything going on the weekend we were home it was just My Mom, Sister, her boyfriend, Ella, and myself. Brad and his Mom came down for a bit but Brad had plans for the afternoon so he didn’t make it the whole day.
We got there before they opened, ha of course, but they were nice enough to let us go in and look at the animals until they opened. Ella, had to show all of the animals her belly, it was hillarious!
We then headed down to check out the tractors and it was about time to say bye to Daddy and Mamaw.
As soon as they officially opened and we could do the extras Ella very much wanted to ride a Pony. So, she did.
She really did not want my help at all, then we headed down to the bounce house and the corn box.
Then of course, we checked out the GINORMO slide about 20 times.
By this point Ella was READY for another Pony ride.
Then we mined for rocks and uncovered fossils
It was then about time for a little something called, Hay Ride to the Pumpkin Patch. Ella LOVED it!
We then took a turn driving the “Pumpkin Car Train” (Ella’s term)
I was shocked, SHOCKED, that she rode in this ride and didn’t once freak out. The car started driving and she just went along with it, wasn’t upset, loved it.
By then it was time for Pony ride #3, also known as, “I’m 20 months old Mom, I need my independence”
Let me just say that thanks to this:
Oh yes, that lovely 13″ of snow that we had at 6 AM (and yes, it’s still dumping out) My appointment today was rescheduled for a week from tomorrow! Grrr. . . . thanks to people not knowing how to drive, in snow, in Colorado, I-70 is closed due to multiple accidents so I cannot get to my appointment in Evergreen. So now I have to wait 6 1/2 weeks between appointments. Grrr. . . I’m a little frustrated! Of course since I scheduled this appointment 5 weeks ago it had to snow over a foot last night and is supposed to be sunny every day after today, of course!
Anyway, on to the more positive parts!
I’m 25 weeks pregnant today!
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn’t much more than an average rutabaga, but she’s beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she’ll start to look more and more like a newborn. She’s also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you’d now be able to discern its color and texture.
Isn’t it crazy how fast they start gaining weight after the 20 week mark?!
Anyway, this week was a pretty good week for us (besides my frustrations with mother nature today) but I’m not going to go on about it since I have several other posts that I’d like to get done today (since my motivation to work is totally shot now) so I’m just going to move on to the survey and catch you all up on life after I go get lunch. =)

And, just to hold you over, here is one of my favorite pictures from the pumpkin patch!
Before I get to my normal Hump Day Bump Day post, I want to talk about something that happened this weekend that has left me feeling as if someone has kicked me in the gut and left the wind knocked out of me.
A man who died too young; Dan Wheldon 1978-2011.
Sunday was the final race for the Indy Car series and at 12 laps in I got a text message from my husband reading “Bad, bad, bad wreck. 15 Cars”. 6 minutes later I got another text message from him “Dan’s hurt bad!” I immediately called him even though I was driving to ask if he was dead. Those who know me know that Dan is my driver, we have met several times and he is one of the nicest, most sincere people that I have EVER had the pleasure of meeting. At the time, he was not, but after a couple of hours he was pronounced dead. After seeing the replay it’s no surprise why, it was horrible. The ironic part is that this was Dan’s 3rd race of the season as he had been the test driver for the newer, SAFER, 2012 Indy Cars.
He left behind his wife, their 2 1/2 year old son, and their 7 month old son. How do you tell a 2 1/2 year old that their Daddy isn’t coming home? When they announced his death, I sat on the floor, at my birthday party, and cried. I called Brad and the first thing out of my mouth was “But, he has 2 little boys.” A few minutes later I heard Ella waking up from her nap. I went in to get her and was still crying, the first thing out of her mouth was, “Mommy Sad?!”. It is heart breaking, he was an amazing Man and he will be missed by me and many other people. Please play for strength for his family to get through this as his time came too soon.
And here is a picture from the first time I met him. He had just won the race and it had started raining, he made the announcement that he would be signing autographs for all of the kids first, since they were what it was all about.
How Far Along: 24 Weeks! And as of today, if lord forbid anything were to happen, Aubrey would be viable and Dr.’s would do everything they could to save her!
Total Weight Gain: not sure, I find out next week at my appointment, not looking forward to it though as I just ate everything in sight while we were back around the amazing restaurants in Bloomington!
Maternity clothes: Oh yes
Sleep: It’s been better, Ella was up at the crack of dawn every day we were home!
Stretch Marks: No new ones yet.
Best Moment This Week: Seeing Family
Movement: Every day, my youngest sister Sara got to feel her kick while we were home. (Sorry Faythe!)
Food Cravings: Boneless Spare Ribs. Haha!
Gender: A Precious Baby Girl!
Labor Signs: Nope, thank goodness!
Belly Button: In, but getting more shallow every day!
What I Miss: Not being able to see Dan Wheldon race ever again.
What I’m looking forward to: Well, today for starters, it’s viability day! And I have my next appointment next Wednesday! It’s been way too long!
Weekly Wisdom: You never know how things can change until it’s happened in an instant! Cherish those that you love and hug your babies a little tighter tonight!
Saturday morning we woke up to snow and it continued through the day. Ella LOVED it and was so amazed when we went out to breakfast that she could actually touch it. She kept staring out the window at breakfast saying “pretty snow!” and we told her that after nap time later that we could get her dressed and she could go out in it.
It was a hit! I don’t think that Brad will have any trouble getting her on skis this winter. =)
After her time in the snow she wanted to go inside for “mallows” aka, hot chocolate and marshmallows.
She was WIPED out! But, she recovered just in time for hockey! Opening night for the Avs and she was game ready!
And then later that night she found a new game that she loved, the laundry basket game.
- Tomorrow is my 5 year wedding anniversary! I cannot believe that we’ve been together for 10 years and now married for 5! Insane! Time goes by quickly when you’re spending it with your best friend.
Ella has been kind of a little beast lately thanks to these 3 canines all growing through her gums at the same time! Because of this, yesterday morning was MISERABLE! Imagine my surprise when this was my amazingly happy little girl this morning before school.
I’ve had this song stuck in my head on anf off for DAYS! Maybe even WEEKS!
So, I thought I’d share, you can thank me later. =)
