Sledding With Ella

Brad brought Ella up to visit me on Wednesday and while they were here we got to do a little sledding. She LOVED it once again.

 Sledding with Alicia

And a video, you HAVE to video because she always wants to watch them. Haha!

Friday Phone Favorites

Ella got her first real haircut on monday, she Rocked it!
Before. . . .
 During. . .

And After, she got glitter in her hair and wanted a picture. =)

Tuesday morning she wanted to do our hair. I look HORRIBLE in all of these, but she’s too cute for them not to be favorites.
OMG, the face in this one KILLS me!

Getting the pans ready to make cupcakes for school!
And, from this morning, messing around taking pictures with my new phone.

Hump Day Bump Day: 38 Weeks (A Day Late! Sorry)

Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she’s over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you’ll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.
Wondering what color your baby’s eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she’s born with brown eyes, they’ll likely stay brown. If she’s born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she’s 9 months old. That’s because a child’s irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she’s born, but they usually won’t get “lighter” or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)
What a week! I feel like I’m finally getting things accomplished! Brad got the new dresser put together so I have a place to put all these adorably small baby clothes. So, a lot of laundering has been going on in our house. Haha. I am quite excited to say that this is my last week of work before the baby comes. I’m in for a little bit on Monday morning to go over some things with a couple of people but then I’m off for about 9 weeks. Woo hoo!
Ella will be 2 a week from today, I’m excited that we’ll get to have a small party for her before her little sister makes her arrival. And then on her actual birthday (the day before the C-Section) we’re going to take her down to the Zoo, if the weather permits. As of today it’s saying “Possible showers” but a high of 58. If we could keep the high of 58 and lose the possibility of showers, I would be one VERY happy Mama. And oh yes, I will be waddling around the zoo at 39 weeks pregnant. Haha.
How Far Along: 38 Weeks, crazy!
Total Weight Gain: Not really sure what to say here. The scale at the Dr.’s office had me at +34, but I had just scarfed down a HUGE lunch (We were running a little behind on Monday) so I’m going to say +32. We’ll see on Monday when I’m back to my normally timed appointments.
Sleep: Better, I’m so exhausted I don’t have the energy to wake up. Haha
Stretch Marks: Some of the old ones are starting to get a little longer/darker at the ends. Oh well, battle scars!
Best Moment This Week: Spending time with Ella, one on one. And her first haircut (yes, at almost 2 years old) She did AMAZING!
Movement: Still pretty much constant!
Food Cravings: Steak N Shake! Man, it’s so close (compared to missouri, ha!) but we still haven’t been. And when the woman who was cutting Ella’s hair said her husband was the manager there, I almost cried I wanted to go so badly. Haha
Gender: Another amazing girl!
Labor Signs: a couple contractions, but nothing really to speak of.
Belly Button: Still a half and halfer.
What I Miss: Nothing!
What I’m looking forward to: Seeing my girls together for the first time!
38 Week Bump:

Friday Phone Dump

We had some cute pictures of Ella this week that ended up taken on our phones, so I thought I would join in on the new blog daily craze and show some of our favorites from the week!

Talking to daddy, she says “Daddy, be careful on the mountain!”
 “Mommy, I’m a mermaid!”
We took her to see her first movie, Chipwrecked, she LOVED it! And she still talks about the popcorn. =)
Got this picture mid day on Wednesday, made my work day better. =)
Here’s Ella and her little buddy Garrett when I dropped her off at school this morning.

Some Ella Awesomeness!

So, after my appointment on Monday we ran down to Denver to get some errands taken care of. Ella’s nap was then WAY delayed, she was acting a little cranky but not too bad. Well here she is at 4 PM. . . . .

 4:05
 4:06
I love that she wants her hands in her pockets all.the.time! So cute!

And after 2.5 months of reciting our ABC’s she finally let me video her last night! Love Her!

Hump Day Bump Day: 37 Weeks!

Your baby is now considered “full term,” even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you’re planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there’s a medical reason to intervene earlier.)
Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel. Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don’t be surprised if your baby’s hair isn’t the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.
I actually got a lot done this weekend! Not quite everything that I wanted to get done, but I feel accomplished! I got my hair cut, there are now 2 Car Seats installed in my car, a cosleeper in my room, and the c-section has been officially scheduled! There’s also a swing and some tummy time mats in my house (as of last night) but I need to wash all of that before I consider it ready to go. Now, if we could just get the dresser put together so I’d have someplace to put all of these clothes, I would be one VERY happy lady! =)
On Sunday morning I went in to get Ella and she tells me “Want to go to Dr. hear baby Aubrey’s heart beat” so she was quite excited when I told her that was what we were doing the next day. Then at the appointment she was so excited when the heartbeat came over the doppler, there was this large intake of breath and she says “I love it!” OMG, that child kills me.
How Far Along: 37 Weeks! Full Term!!
Total Weight Gain: Down 1/2 a lb from last week so back to 29 total!
Sleep: Not too horrible lately! Thank goodness, I am so exhausted by the end of the day that I’m actually able to sleep!
Stretch Marks: Still now new ones, but the ones from Ella are starting to get darker again! Boo!
Best Moment This Week: By far it was Ella’s reaction to hearing the heart beat again! Also, my BP is staying WAY low this time! This week it was 94/60. Insane! I guess bed rest with Ella was for the best, who knows how high it would have gone!
Movement: Oh yes, this little one still moves ALL the time!
Food Cravings: Iced Chai, Steak N Shake, and a chocolate frosted cream filled donut from Crescent! (Mom, you think you can get one in to your packed luggage where it won’t get squished?!) =)
Gender: A Princess!
Labor Signs: None this week, a couple BH’s here and there but nothing like last Monday and Tuesday!
Belly Button: Still a top half outtie bottom half flattie. =)
What I Miss: Not a thing!
What I’m Looking Forward To: Holding my new little girl in my arms and seeing Ella’s face when she meets her baby sister!
Weekly Wisdom: Not feeling too wise today. Haha!
37 Week Bump!

It’s My Friday!

And I have a busy weekend ahead of me! I have to wash baby clothes, put together the dresser that we bought 3 weeks ago!, get the infant car seat washed and installed, Dr.’s appointment on Monday followed by running around like a crazy person trying to get everything else I need for this baby girl to make her arrival. And then when all of the running around is done, I need to get my hospital bag packed.
2 Weeks from today is my last day of work! Yay! And 3 weeks from yesterday is our c-section date. I am so ready (yet unprepared, haha!) to meet this new little girl!
But, just for fun I wanted to show you guys some of the things that have come for her and Ella!
Ella LOVED her new owl hat!

Ella wants to wear this hat ALL the time! But what makes this even better? There’s a matching one for Aubrey when she makes her appearance!

Too Stinking Cute! I cannot wait to get pictures of them together!
Also arriving for Aubrey?
Some adorable new Loafers and Mary Janes
A cutie little Teddy Bear Hat!
And last but not least, this adorable pixie hat! Cannot wait to get some sleeping newborn pictures in this one!
ALL of these hats and booties came from A.O.kay Designs
Too Cute!
On to a very, VERY serious note! A good friend of ours and both my and Brad’s boss at one point or another has been diagnosed with an inoperable tumor on his brain stem. It seems to be very fast growing and the Dr.’s have only given him 8-12 months to live. He is taking this news like a champ and ready to make the most of the time that he has left. Please, PLEASE pray for comfort and peace for him. Or if not just that, a miracle in the works that they will find a treatment for him that will work wonders and get this Tumor gone!
Thanks in Advance for your prayers!

Hump Day Bump Day: 36 Weeks

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She’s shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement. At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term!
So I had my appointment on Monday and it sounds like we are good to go on February 3rd at 7:30 in the morning! That is, if I don’t go in to labor on my own before then. I thought this was mildly impossible with Ella being late, that I would go earlier than 39 weeks 2 days but then I left my appointment and have been having braxton hicks contractions all day since then. I’ve only had a couple this morning, thank goodness, because by the end of the day yesterday they were getting painful just from having them all day long! When I talked to my Dr. on Monday I told him I’d been having a few here and there if I had overdone it cleaning or bending over to get things and I was informed that being almost 36 weeks if I did go in to labor they wouldn’t try to stop it, we’d just head to the hospital and do the C-section. So, cue ridiculous number of contractions for 2 days straight. Haha
It finally seems to have gotten the hint that it’s winter here in the mountains of Colorado. There were about 8 inches outside when I woke up this morning (of course CDOT wasn’t doing their jobs and the roads weren’t plowed, miserable drive to work this morning!) and it’s still puking out there, there’s about 3 inches on my car and it’s only been parked outside for 2 hours. Fun stuff!
We had some friends up this weekend from Denver so I got nothing done that I wanted to. Plus cue them taking my husband to the bar and there was no way I could get anything done taking care of Ella at night, and not being able to climb a ladder to get to our storage loft to get stuff down. So, now I feel very behind, he’s been warned that this was it for the fun weekends, that the next few are going to be BUSY! Especially since now we have to throw my weekly appointments in there.
How Far Along: 36 Weeks
Total Weight Gain: up 1/2 a lb from last week (YES!!!) so 29.5 total
Sleep: Argh, if I see the 3 O’clock hour several times like this morning again, I’m going to scream! I can usually fall asleep in between my hourly wakings but not today (Gotta love the insomnia!)
Stretch Marks: Still no new ones, yay!
Best Moment This Week: Getting my C-section officially scheduled and getting to feel this new life moving around every day. And, getting to play in the snow with Ella, she has SO much fun!
Movement: Oh yes, I think it sets off some of these contractions.
Food Cravings: Iced Chai
Gender: A precious little girl!
Labor Signs: BH’s turning to mildly painful contractions by the end of the day! Hopefully they settle soon!
Belly Button: Top half is an outtie, bottom half is holding flat!
What I Miss: nothing, I love pregnancy!
What I’m looking forward to: Having my little family together! I cannot wait to see Ella the first time she meets her baby sister!
Weekly Wisdom: Do NOT expect things to go the same way the 2nd time around.
36 Week Belly Pics!

As you can see, my shirts are getting a little small to contain the belly. Since I only have 3 weeks and 2 days left to go (at the most!) I will not be buying any size larges, so everyone will have to deal with a little bit of maternity pant for the next couple weeks. Ha!

Things that make me happy

I’m sitting here at work, with my daughter. She makes me very happy. Here are some other things to share.
This song reminds me of my husband, it’s the ringtone that plays when he calls me and if we were to get married again this song would be the theme of our wedding.

Ha! Whoever did this video can’t really spell that well for some things. But to see the amazing Official video, go here: Blake Shelton – God Gave Me You Makes me want to cry.

And like I said, this little girl (who LOVES Mommys new hat) makes me VERY happy!

Our New Years Weekend. . .all about Ella =)

Our New years Weekend started off with a bang. Friday night Ella woke up about 45 minutes after we put her to bed, I was able to rock her right back to sleep and thought “What a fluke”. Boy was I wrong, We were up again at 11:30 where she had a fever of 100.4 (She usually runs at about 97.2 and has NEVER been over 99.5!!!) So I gave her some tylenol and we were both back in our respective beds at about 12:30, we were up again at 1:30, 3:45, and she was up for the day at 5. I took her temp and she was at about 98.5 so I thought all was well, she was ready to come to work with me that day anyway so we got everything together and headed on our way.
She was acting normal until right about 9:30 when she just sat down in a chair and started shivering, I took her temp. 101.9, yikes! I called Brad right away and he came down off the mountain and took her over to the clinic at the base to get checked out. Strep Test – Negative, both ears looked perfect. Just a yucky old Viral infection! I stayed at work while Brad went home with her.
Saturday night she went to bed by 7 pm (bed time is 8) but she was up at 5:45 the next morning, I put on some cartoons for her because she was burning up and miserable and we started our every 3 hour tylenol/ibuprofen regimen that we were told to do. At about 7:30 Brad sent me this picture

With the message, “First Sunrise of 2012”, I look over to show Ella the picture that Brad had sent and I saw this

Poor girl had just passed out in the chair, this continued all day. We’d be playing, eating, just hanging out, reading a story, and she would just fall asleep.
By Monday she was still hovering right around 100 so we decided to continue the medicine dosages we were told to do until she came back down to her normal. We had an almost normal day, just a bit fussy when it got towards the 3 hour mark and her temp would start CREEPING back up. But that night she was back to the exhausted not feeling well stage.

She crawled up in my lap while I was watching a football game and just went to sleep (and so did Rocky obviously).
The next day she was at 99.9 when she woke up which was the lowest she had been since Friday night (She had been back at 101 when waking up on Sunday & Monday morning) so we decided to just do a dose of tylenol every 6 hours instead of throwing some ibuprofen in, in between. Well, her fever finally broke Tuesday night! Thank Goodness! 4 days of 100+ degree fever was not a fun time for her! Poor Kid!
Anyway, on to happier things! On Tuesday night Brad was getting her dressed for bed and I went to the kitchen to get her milk and her vitamin. When I came back in Brad goes “Tell Mommy What you Said” and Ella got pretty quiet and just smiled so Brad says “Well, I can tell her but it might make her cry” and I’m thinking, oh lord, my child just let out a slew of cuss words (or something equally as horrible) and then brad goes on to tell me that when I left the room Ella asked where I went and he told her I had gone to go get her milk. She got quiet for a minute, looked up at him and said “I love her!” OMG, I did cry, that kid is so sweet sometimes!
Here is the way that our sunroom looks now that it is Ella’s kitchen:

So you’ll often see this site, she likes to play IN her bin of play food.

She also likes to stack it, so you’ll often walk around the house and find little stacks of play food.

And now for some fun, the musical talents of my child. =)
