Backtracking: Acid Reflux

When we took Aubrey for her 2 week appointment, I mentioned that she had been spitting up quite a bit. They asked if she was fussy at all, and at the time, she was not. At 1 month we took her for a weight check and she was gaining weight, a little fussing when she would spit up but still gaining so they were not concerned. A week and a half before she turned 2 months old, I couldn’t take it anymore. She was constantly screaming when she would spit up, always acting like she was in pain, and would arch away from me at bedtime when it was time to nurse. I felt so bad for my poor baby girl!
When I took her to the Dr. they said it sounded like she had Colic as well as acid reflux. Awesome. My poor kid! They wrote us a prescription for Prevacid but warned us that out insurance might not cover it.
We immediately went to get the prescription filled and to our surprise, insurance covered it 100%! That first night she slept 7 hours straight, no screaming, no puking, nothing! Since then we’ve had our ups and downs, good days with less puking, bad days with a lot of puking. But, overall she is a much happier baby now! I even got my first giggle out of her the other night, too cute!
Recently, she has started spitting up more often on a more regular basis, I think next week when I’m away from work (since daycare is closed!) I’ll take her in for a weight check just to make sure she’s still gaining well and maybe bring up that she’s puking more often and see if they want to change her doseage at all.
It seems like a lot of babies born recently have been diagnosed with reflux, weird. And I was so spoiled from Ella being an EASY baby that I never imagined Aubrey would have to deal with this.
Like I said, she’s feeling so much better though. Thank goodness!
And, what post is any fun without pictures?

The girls rocking their leopard print. =)

Backtracking: A Birthday Party!

Last month, Ella’s “Best Buddy” Kasen, turned 4.
He had his birthday party at our local Rec center and Ella couldn’t have had more fun if she had tried! It was hard to keep up with her. It was an hour of open gym and she wanted to do EVERYTHING!

I don’t know how many times she road the “Roller Coaster”! They have one at school so she was an old pro, and loved it every time!

Backtracking: A Week Of Firsts

Saturday March 3rd, Sunday March 4th, Monday March 5th, and Wednesday March 6th were big days, and firsts for the girls in different ways!
March 3rd Aubrey Turned 1 Month Old! I cannot believe how insanely fast the first Month Went By!!
Ella is always more then happy to pose for a picture with her sister, so here are the girls on the morning that Aubrey turned 1 month old. =)

On Sunday March 4th, Ella was SUPER excited because that night, Daddy was putting together her Big Girl Bed!
We had gone a couple weeks before and ordered her bed, and she was able to pick out the bedding that she wanted. She was SO excited that the night was finally here!

On Monday the 5th, it was supposed to be gorgeous down in Denver. So what does any normal family with a 1 month old do? Why go to the zoo of course. That was Aubrey’s first trip to the zoo, and Ella had so much fun! This was also Aubrey’s first time in the stroller. =)

Tuesday March 6th started out like any other Tuesday. We got up, got dressed, and went to story time at the library. Little did Ella know, we had a surprise in store for her. =) She always talks about going skiing, so on this particular Tuesday, she got to. =) The verdict? She LOVED it!!

Backtracking: Ella’s 2 year well check

On February 7th (Daddy’s Birthday!) we did a lot. Ella took Ning Ning down to the airport so she could go home, and while she was there she picked up Mamaw. =) When they got back home it was time for Ella’s nap so we could head to her 2 year Well check and Aubrey’s bili check.
Ella clocked in at 33 1/2 inches tall (43rd percentile), and 24 lbs 4 oz. (18th percentile). We were so excited! At her 18 month well check she was in the 3rd percentile for weight, she jumped 15%!
The most exciting part for her? She didn’t need any shots, but Daddy did. Haha! He had to get his DTaP vaccine. She thought that was funny!
Here are a couple of pics of her from the night before, and then that evening holding her baby sister!
Sorry for the blurriness of these first 2, Ella found these glasses at the store and LOVED them, but, she wasn’t going to stand still for pictures.

I didn’t want to get too far behind (I know, I am already 2 months behind! Ha!) So I wanted to post some pictures from Easter before I continued back tracking.

 Aubrey’s Easter Basket
Ella’s Easter Basket (stroller, etc! Ha!)

The Easter Bunny left some eggs!

After hunting for Easter Eggs, we had a mini phone photo shoot. =)
First up: The obligatory Bunny Ears. =)
Followed By: Their Easter Top Hats that Ning Ning made them

And how did Daddy spend the rest of his day? Why, putting together Ella’s playground, of course!

That night we had our good friends/neighbors over for Easter dinner! We had an amazing day together (and only had to watch the chipmunks movie 3 times during the day! a 4th time the next morning to make it 4 times in 24 hours! Ha!)
