Excuses, thoughts and Phone Favorites

Sorry for my severe lack of blogging this week. I am EXHAUSTED! Maybe it’s the 5 1/2 months of horrible to no sleep finally catching up with me! It’s worth it though, Aubrey is the SWEETEST little girl and I love watching my daughters interact with each other. Aubrey adores her big sister and the feeling is way mutual!
Ella LOVES being a big sister. Last Thursday before I took Ella in to school she told me she had to ask her Daddy a question first, well when she got over to him she says, “Daddy, next time can I have a brother?” I just about died laughing, he told her No and I thought she was going to cry. All the way to school she kept telling me how her Daddy had said she couldn’t have a brother. Ha, then on Tuesday she walked right up to him and said “Daddy, next time can I have a sister?” HA! That kid cracks me up! She knows what she wants and is obviously not afraid to ask for it! The fun part is, he tells me not to have her ask him these things, I have nothing to do with it. Ella loved being a big sister so much that she wants more siblings, I love it!
Here are my favorite photos from my phone this past week!

“Don’t take my picture!”

“Take my picture, Mom!”

Above is Aubrey at work with me on Monday, she gets very excited when I get my phone out for pictures, sometimes.
Below is Ella when I got home from work on Monday. She gets very excited by music, ALL the time. =)
Aubrey and I went on a walk at lunch today, this was our view.
And this is how excited she was to be back in the cool office when we got back from our walk. Haha!

Friday Favorite Phone Photos

Last Friday we headed to the shop to have Brad look at my brakes. Just as we were pulling in, a HUGE bolt of lightning took out all of the lifts. So, we played in the office. =)

Aubrey has started sitting for a bit on her own!

A little collage of Ella from the past week.

Tuesday, we went to see music in the park, as we were getting home, there was the most beautiful sunset.

My big girl, sitting up and playing!

Thursday Thoughts

  • Ella’s potty training is going AWESOME! When I dropped her off at school on Tuesday, her teacher said she was doing so well that whenever we’re comfortable, we can start sending her in underwear! How exciting!
  • I’m currently doing battle with Aubrey, trying to get her to take a bottle. It is NOT working. Any tips? If nothing else, I’ll try introducing a soft ni.pple sippy cup.
  • Aubrey’s sleep is still hit or miss, with a lot more miss than hit. I can get a 3-4 hour stretch out of her in her car seat now, but after that I cannot put her down. But, after that sometimes she’ll only wake up and nurse that one time, and then sleep on me the rest of the night, until about 6.
  • I now have a goal in mind to help me lose this baby weight! It’s booked, a family vacation! June 1-8 of next year we’ll be in Myrtle Beach, SC! So excited! And just what I needed for that extra kick in the pants to lose this weight! I might not be at my goal weight yet, (remember, slow and steady!) but I will be skinnier!
  • My birthday is coming up, the big 3-0! I’m excited for it! (I know, a little crazy!) A friend of ours is getting married on our anniversary weekend (a week before my birthday) so if we make it home for the wedding, I want pictures for my birthday. My friend from high school, Katie, has opened her own photography business and I would LOVE to have her take our pictures. If we don’t end up getting back home, I want These or This. Haha, the sunglasses, self explanatory, love them. The lens, so I can start taking better pictures myself, without the kit lens.
  • I am SO ready for the weekend, this week has just been dragging on. I need to refresh and there are so many fun things going on this weekend!
  • Sorry, no pictures today, but I’ll post my phone favorites tomorrow!

Here lately….

So much has been going on and I just haven’t been able to sit down and write about it!
We’re back to our weekly play dates at the park, Ella is LOVING them!

Ella has been cooking for Aubrey and I in her kitchen, quite a bit lately!

Saturday morning, Ella REALLY wanted to pick out her own outfit. It was glamorous!

Then we went out for lunch and headed on out to the lake! Even though it threatened to rain, Ella had a blast wading in the lake and then walking in to town to get ice cream!

Aubrey also enjoyed the beach. =)

After ice cream, we ran up to the playground before heading back to the car, Aubrey liked playing in the sand box, Ella was a little more adventerous.

To conclude our funfilled day, Aubrey got her first real spoonfuls of food! We’ve been squishing up little pieces of Banana for a few days, but this was all out eating. Her first meal? Avacado.
And of course, Ella wanted to help feed her. =)

Aubrey did pretty good with it! And Ella kept telling Aubrey about when she was a baby, she’d eat food like that too! Adorable!
And to round out that last night of June, Ella decided that the “tires” on our patio table needed to be changed to “pink ones”

And then they discussed the day over dinner on the deck. =)

Our 4th of July in Pictures!

Our day started off so nice! I woke Ella up at 9 (if she sleeps too late she is in a FOUL mood!) and she requested waffled for breakfast, so we made waffles together! We then got dressed and headed to the big parade! =) Ella had no clue what a parade was, but she knew her friends would be there so she was all in!

The parade started with a lfyover, the kids LOVED it!

 Smokey the Bear!

After the parade, we headed for home, had lunch, and it was nap time!
Ella wanted to read Aubrey a story.

To top off our day, we headed over to some of our friends to have a neighborhood cookout.
Here are some of the Dads with their youngest. (Yes, the all have 2, but the older ones were running around everywhere. No need for pictures!)
We had an excellent 4th of July! Now, hopefully we’ll get enough rain next summer that we can watch fireworks!
