Hump Day Bump Day: 13 Weeks!

My 300th Post! Woot!
Anyway
Your Baby: Week 13

Your fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords… savor this, their non-functional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby’s tummy. (Much more convenient.)
Fingerprints have formed on your baby’s tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you’re having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long  and weighs nearly an ounce. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby’s critical development will be completed and your odds of miscarriage drop considerably.

This past week was good, a lot of things will be shared in my next post (Ella is 18 month’s old! Insane!). This weekend though wasn’t the greatest. On the day of the Family Fun Fest I wasn’t feeling so hot. Stomache cramping and just feeling blah. Needless to say another 3 lb.s later I am FINALLY today feeling more normal. I have to stop catching these bugs that are going around daycare or I am never going to gain enough weight for this baby!

How far along: 13 Weeks
Total Weight gain/loss: back to -3 BLAH!
Maternity clothes: By the end of the day I’m sporting some nice bloat so the pants are getting tight. Most of the day though everything still fits perfect.
Stretch Marks: Only leftovers
Sleep: Great, other than the nights I wasn’t feeling well.
Best Moment This Week: Seeing the baby last Wednesday, having fun with Ella!
Movement: Not yet
Food Cravings: Have calmed down this week, still would love to go get some sushi though.
Gender: We both still think girl
Labor signs: Thank goodness, no.
Belly Button in or out?: In
What I miss: Nothing
What I’m looking forward to: Movement, and being in the 2nd trimester next week!
Weekly Wisdom: I’m not feeling very wise this morning. Haha

  1. Just a tip: Since you're so sick right now, the weight may come on rapid later- meaning insane stretch marks… Keep the lotion super handy. In fact, it may be a good idea to sit in a vat of it for months on end. On another hand- if you'd like- I will send you my mom's special homemade stuff. It is the thickest, best stuff in the world (plus it's organic)! Love all the Ella and Baby news. Yippee!
